Marcel Bottaro European Quartet : “Une fusion de cultures et d’expériences musicales”
La dernière œuvre de Marcel Bottaro, intitulée « Marcel Bottaro European Quartet », est un voyage musical passionnant qui unit toute l’expérience qu’il a acquise au Brésil et en Amérique du Sud à de nouvelles influences culturelles et artistiques venues d’Europe. Ce projet novateur explore le langage universel de la musique à travers le format du quartet, créant une fusion harmonique entre les mélodies brésiliennes et le jazz moderne.
Les compositions du quatuor sont méticuleusement conçues pour intégrer les idées et les influences de chaque membre, permettant une liberté d’expression qui donne à chacun une voix. Avec des interludes en solo et des arrangements soigneusement élaborés, l’interaction entre les musiciens est l’essence même de l’œuvre, ce qui donne lieu à une création collective vibrante et passionnante qui transforme chaque représentation en une expérience unique pour le public.
L’une des caractéristiques les plus frappantes de ce projet est la combinaison de mélodies fortes et de rythmes engageants, qui émergent de façon spontanée et authentique. La musique atteint son apogée sans préméditation, reflétant la pureté et l’intensité de l’expression artistique à son plus haut niveau.

In 1962, when segregation reigns, Tony Lip, an Italian-American bouncer from the Bronx, is hired to drive and protect Dr. Don Shirley, a world-renowned black pianist, during a concert tour. Dutch pianist and composer Joachim Challem (1994) was born in Holland where he grew up with his two mothers and brother. After years of studying the piano he noticed life was more then music alone. He believes that nature is the greatest teacher for all complex thoughts a human can attain. That’s why he lives his life partly in the unknown mountains of Northern Spain, in the search for his own home. Therefore, he composes his music on different piano’s in multiple countries, environments and moods.
Release 2024: The dream lies in living towards it. Challem started envisioning his future the day he wanted to buy a grand piano, he thought about it a second time and turned around. Where should the piano go? From that moment onward he started imagining a life around the piano; a place close to nature where he could play the piano while enjoying the mountain view at sunrise.
Ever since he’s working towards his dream. While being on the road, he has developed the habit of composing on any piano that is crossing his path. During his journey he discovers the hidden mountains of Asturias where special friendships arise. Everyday he gets a clearer picture of his dream, and 12 compositions unfolded.
Challem’s new album ‘The Road’ is a story about setting direction, and at the same time letting go. You can have a plan in life, but sometimes life has a plan for you. The dream lies in living towards it.
